Yash Chopra's untimely demise shocked the industry and his fans world over. And now his family and production company, Yash Raj Films (YRF), are planning to give him a grand farewell.
In accordance with the late filmmaker's wishes, his wife Pamela Chopra has decided that his last directorial venture, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, will have a grand premiere this Diwali. "I want to give my husband an unforgettable farewell. Accordingly, we have decided to have a grand premiere for his last film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, exactly the way he wanted it. This is a fitting tribute to a man who would have had it no other way. I have asked my sons, Aditya and Uday, to go ahead with all the preparations. This premiere is our way of celebrating his illustrious life, rather than mourning it," said Pamela.
Consequently, a premiere is being planned on November 12 and the team is working on the details. The entire industry is waiting for Chopra's magnum opus, which will have the quintessential Yash Chopra elements, but won't have Katrina Kaif in a chiffon sari in Switzerland. The veteran director shot the entire film, except this last song. There were speculations that his son Aditya might direct the song, but clarifications were soon made that nothing in the film would be changed after the director's demise.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film is slated for a worldwide release on November 13.
