Himesh Reshammiya has decided not to compose music for Sher. Reason? Vivek Oberoi. Apparently, when Himesh was signed for the film, he was told that Sonu Sood would be featuring in the film. It was only later when Vivek Oberoi stepped in instead. Since Himesh shares a very strong relationship with Salman Khan, it was a matter of time before he opted out. One wonders though how is Sanjay Dutt, who is the central protagonist in Sher, feeling about the entire turn of events.
Informs our source, "Himesh has tremendous respect for Sanjay Dutt. In fact it was Dutt who had recommended his name for the film. Also, Himesh too wanted to work with him since a long time. This is the reason why he is also composing music for Sammy remake which is being directed by KS Ravikumar. However, when Himesh came to know during the Rajasthan shooting schedule of Sher that Vivek had joined the film's cast, he took the drastic step of moving ahead."
What further triggered the sudden move was the statement that was apparently made by Vivek around Sher being bigger than Tiger (with an obvious reference to Ek Tha Tiger).
As of now, the makers of Sher want Himesh to deliver the final song for them but Himesh is disinterested.
Says a source close to him, "Himesh loves Sanju baba a lot but would not do a film with Vivek for sure. For Himesh it has always been God, Dad and Salman Khan. That equation won't change for anyone."
For someone who is seeing a good high with OMG - Oh My God finding good audience for itself and songs from Bodyguard playing till date, one wonders whether this would turn out to be a costly miss for Sher.
