Yash Chopra Rajesh Khanna to receive Dadasaheb Phalke awards
Earlier we had reported that veteran actor Pran had been awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. Now we hear that Late Yash Chopra and Late Rajesh Khanna too will also be honoured with Phalke awards.
While Late Yash Chopra will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award for his services to the Indian film industry, his wife Pamela will receive the Saraswatibai Phalke Award. Rajesh Khanna, who passed away in July last year, will be honoured as the first superstar of Indian cinema award.
Apart from the them, playback singer Asha Bhosle will be presented with the Phalke Ratna Award for her contribution in the field of music for five decades.
Other stars who will receive awards at the function will be Akshay Kumar for Best Actor award for Rowdy Rathore, his mother-in-law Dimple Kapadia will get the Phalke Ever Memorable actor award, Manoj Bajpayee will get the Phalke Excellent Performance award for the film Gangs of Wasseyur while Irrfan Khan will be given the Phalke Memorable Performance Award for Paan Singh Tomar.
The 13th Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards will be held on April 30 at Bhaidas Auditorium in Mumbai.

Prabhu Devas next titled Ramaiya Vastavaiya
His first Bollywood directorial venture Wanted starring Salman Khan was a super success. Post which Prabhu Deva directed Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore. Now we hear that Prabhu's next which is a musical love story is titled Ramaiya Vastavaiya.
The film will feature Kumar Taurani's son Girish Kumar making his big-screen debut opposite Shruti Haasan. Apparently, the Tauranis who are also producing the film had initially signed on Prabhu immediately post Wanted for a different film. However, it was Prabhu who conceptualized the musical love story and was keen on directing it.
Since the film is a musical love story both the lead actors, Girish and Shruti have been working hard on becoming adept at dancing. Currently, sixty percent of the film is already complete while the remaining portion will be wrapped up by January-end.
Ramaiya Vastavaiya, produced by Tips Industries Limited and Kumar Taurani, is slated for releases next year on June 7, 2013.

Khiladi 786 to release music mashup
When Akshay Kumar had signed Khiladi 786, he had predicted that the film's music would be huge and catch fancy of the masses. The continued success, right from 'Balma', 'Saari Saari Raat', 'Khiladi Title Track' and 'Lonely' to 'Hukka Bar' and now 'Long Drive' has shown that. No wonder, both Akshay and Himesh are a happy lot. To celebrate this success, a mashup of all the songs is being released today afternoon and that too 15 days before the film's release.
Says a source, "This is the first time when a mash up of all songs is being released by the makers and the music company on the request of fans worldwide before the release of the film. Himesh is super excited to create this mashup which has been mixed by Kiran Kamath and is on top of the world with quite a few chartbuster albums in a row, most recent being Son Of Sardaar."
"If fans were asking for it, we thought why not? Why should we wait for the release of the film since the music is a hit already", adds another source close to the makers.
Credits of the 'Khiladi Mashup' will include music by Himesh Reshammiya, mixed by Kiran Kamath, and sung by Himesh, Shreya Ghoshal, Honey Singh and Band of Power.

Special remix of Lonely track from Khiladi 786
Himesh Reshammiya, known as the hit machine of Bollywood, has been giving only hit songs in a row back to back with the soundtracks of Bodyguard, Bol Bachchan, OMG! Oh My God, Son of Sardaar and now Khiladi 786.
The tracks of Khiladi 786 featuring Akshay Kumar have already caught on big time with the masses and youth. The track 'Lonely' in fact has gone on to become so popular that on public demand the makers have decided to come up with a special remix version of the track and also a music video featuring Akshay, Himesh and Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Khiladi 786 is a special film for Himesh Reshammiya as it's his first co-production with Akshay Kumar and Eros International. Protest against Akshay inaugurating IFFI
The news that Akshay Kumar will be inaugurating the IFFI, that's scheduled to take place in Goa from November 20, has been welcomed by all but a right wing Hindu outfit. The reason? The outfit thinks that Akshay has allegedly hurt religious sentiments in his recent film OMG Oh My God!
Manoj Solanki of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti State Convenor, in a memorandum to Chief Minister of Goa - Manohar Parrikar, said that the film has already hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. He added that the inauguration of a major international event like IFFI at the hands of the producer of the film, Akshay, is like rubbing salt on the wounds of Hindus in this secular state.
While the Goa government is yet to take any action with respect to the memorandum, reports have it that Entertainment Society of Goa, which is a nodal agency conducting the festival, has said that the memorandum would be discussed in the high level committee before arriving at any decision.
