Bollywood films going international and how. With the ever increasing market for Indian cinema it's no surprise that international investors are looking at the Indian market. In fact Fullerton, an investment fund controlled by Singaporean sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings, has bought a 7.4% stake in Bollywood film distributor Eros International.
The acquisition comes after Eros completed the transfer of its primary share listing from London's second tier Alternative Investment Market to the main New York Stock Exchange. With this acquisition Fullerton now holds 8.7 percent in Eros, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The stake was bought on November 13, the day Mumbai-based Eros began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The stake is valued at about $ 22 million, based on the company's closing price yesterday.
Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut Kick has recently doing rounds in the news circuit after Salman Khan was unable to complete the shoot in UK. Hence the schedule of shooting was shifted to India which will commence soon. Despite the fact that the action scenes are required to be shot at Connaught Place, Paharganj and Karol Bagh areas and other popular areas of Delhi, the actor will not visit the city.
An expensive set of a whopping Rs. 15 crores is supposed to be created in Karjat, near Mumbai, which will resemble these popular locations. Also, according to Sajid's statements, the autos, the buses and other local elements will be brought to the set to create an authentic ambience. After this, Salman will fly to London to shoot a major chunk which still remains unfinished because of the visa controversy.
Besides Salman, Kick stars Jacqueline and Randeep Hooda and is scheduled to release in Eid next year.

Cutting short her planned family holiday in London with her mom and sisters, Katrina flew back to Mumbai on Tuesday to practice for some additional action sequences in Dhoom 3.
Yes, Katrina Kaif's stunts in Dhoom 3 just got more ominous and dangerous. We hear the Yash Raj team watched her super-smooth kicks and flips with Salman Khan in Ek Tha Tiger, and decided to give a substantial fillip to Katrina's action quotient in Dhoom 3.
We now hear in Dhoom 3, she will perform the most dangerous stunts ever by a leading lady in Yash Raj film.
Says a source close to the project, "If you look at the other Dhoom films, the ladies Esha Deol, Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai had no real stunts to perform. In Dhoom 3, Katrina was given at least 3 major action sequences for which she was to be specially trained. Now after Ek Tha Tiger, Yash Raj is adding a couple of more action sequences which would be managed by a fleet of action co-ordinators."
Interestingly, Aamir Khan who plays Katrina's soul-mate in Dhoom 3 doesn't have that many action sequences.
"He plays a cool cerebral villain, more into the intellect than fists. Yes, he does have some major stunts. But Katrina plays the more fist-friendly character. And Dhoom 3 would be her first full-fledged action role. Though she plays an aggressive character in Ek Tha Tiger, she wasn't allowed to do any really daring stunt scenes," says our source.
Apparently, Salman watched over Katrina's derringdo quotient in Ek Tha Tiger and told her to "take it easy", even "whispered" to the international directors to "make it easy".
Says our source, "Katrina always wanted to do a full-on high-voltage action film with no body doubles. In Ek Tha Tiger she could only get halfway there. In Dhoom 3 she has just been provided with even more scope for the hi-jinks."
The actress has been on a no-fat diet in London to get into the required shape. She flies back this week ready to kick some serious ass.
