The 65-year old veteran theatre actor cum director Dinesh Thakur, who was best known for his character roles in Hindi films in 70s, set for heavenly abode today after prolonged illness. He was survived by actor-wife Prita Mathur. Thakur, whose last rites will be conducted at the Oshiwara crematorium, suffered from kidney ailments.
Thakur, who had tasted success with films like Mere Apne, Rajnigandha and Ghar, also headed a theatre group called ANK Productions for the last three decades. Till today, the theatre lovers swear by one of his evergreen plays named Jis Lahore Nahi Dekhya.
