Tusshar to launch his own production house
Having created a niche space for himself as an actor in Bollywood, Tusshar Kapoor now ventures into film production and will shortly announce the name of his production house along with the news of his first film.
Talking about his ambitions with the production house, Tusshar says, "My production house will surely carve its own niche in the industry. It won't be just another addition to the list of production houses which already exist. I won't produce anything that is mediocre". Adding further, he says, "I will never make abstract, art house cinema. My films will be offbeat, but will also appeal to a mass audience. A good film eventually becomes commercially viable and that's what I am aiming for as a producer."
While details are tightly being kept under wraps, sources reveal that the actor is in talks and is already in the process of short-listing a script.

Saif Kabir Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala team up
In a first time combination of sorts, acclaimed producer Sajid Nadiadwala, director Kabir Khan and the suave Saif Ali Khan have come together for a yet untitled film. Sajid, who has always worked in the commercial genre, is going out of his comfort zone for this one because he had faith in the director. Says Sajid, "I have loved all the three films Kabir has done till now. And I have full confidence in him and I am going with his vision on this. Over and above all, I think the journey with him on this film will be interesting. That is most important to me."
The film that Khan will direct for Nadiadwala is a political thriller with a contemporary backdrop. It deals with an issue that has engulfed the entire sub-continent and has ramifications across the world, but the producer is rather tight-lipped about the subject.
Kabir's film for Nadiadwala Grandsons is sure to create a lot of excitement and buzz even before it goes on floors owing to the power combination of Saif, Sajid and Kabir who are joining hands for the first time.
The film will be shot extensively in India, Middle East, America and Europe. Kabir has researched extensively for this film, and a lot of attention has been paid to detailing so as to get every nuance right. The film will bring to light the lesser known aspects of sub-continental politics and the players involved in it. Kabir says, "I have always found Saif to be an exciting actor who has the correct blend of being a credible performer and also having amazing star appeal. Sajid is someone I have always admired for his grand and larger than life productions. My association with him is interesting as it brings together my genre of cinema with his rich production values."
Heropanti to release on Valentines Day 2014
The year 2013 is turning out to be a landmark year for producer Sajid Nadiadwala. On April 6, 2013, Heropanti starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon goes on floor in Patiala. This is a significant date as almost two decades ago, Sajid's Judwaa starring Salman Khan started on the same day. Heropanti will release on Valentine's Day 2014.
A return to the classic genre of action-romance, Heropanti will have Sajid's wife Wardha and his mom giving the first clap for the film. There will be no traditional mahurat, as Sajid believes that he gets all the duas via the two women in his life who have been the bearers of good luck for him.
Excited about getting the film started, Sajid says, "I have always believed in giving breaks to deserving people. So far I have given breaks to many leading ladies and young directors. I have full faith in Tiger and his talent. This boy is going to redefine action and dance, the way Bollywood sees it. Working with newcomers has its own energies and I am looking forward to this shoot."
Heropanti will hit the theatres on Feb 14, 2014.

Zanjeer dubbing over Sanjay Dutt resumes shooting
The shadow of imminent incarceration may be looming over him. But Sanjay Dutt is determined to complete his work before he is confined to prison in April. On Monday and Tuesday, Sanjay Dutt completed the dubbing of Zanjeer. Apparently, the film's producers Reliance handed over a cheque of Rs. 1.5 crores to Dutt as dubbing fee.
In the meanwhile a huge bash that was planned in Mumbai on Ramcharan's birthday on Wednesday to introduce him to Bollywood's who's-who was cancelled. Says director Apoorva Lakhia, "We had planned this massive birthday party for Ramcharan at the Four Seasons to formally introduce him to the entire industry. But after what happened to Sanju Sir we cancelled the bash. Dil nahin kiya (our heart was not in it)."
On Thursday, Sanjay Dutt resumed shooting for producer T.P.Aggarwal's Policegiri. Speaking on the previous evening, Aggarwal said, "We were supposed to resume shooting on Wednesday. But it was Holi. Sanjay insisted that we don't waste any time (considering he has only a 4-week window before the doors shut on his freedom). But we insisted that he spend Holi with his family. We now resume on Thursday and wrap up the shooting in ten days."
Holi was an understandably subdued affair at the Dutts' residence. No one in Sanjay's two sisters's families was in a festive mood. However, some of Dutt's friends who were seen shedding tears over his jail sentence just a few days earlier thought nothing of carrying on with their usual Holi revelry.
Said a friend of the Dutt family, "It is only to be extended. Baba thinks the world is his family. Some of his so-called buddies went on with their Holi as though nothing had happened. That's the show-world for you."

Katrina Sonakshi Deepika team up for Thuppakki remake with Akshay
Akshay Kumar's popularity among his leading ladies remains undiminished. For proof, try this. Three of his favourite co-stars Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone have, in the words of someone close to the project, "shown varying degrees of interest" in doing the Hindi version of the Tamil Diwali blockbuster Thuppakki which is currently ruling the box-office.
Now, there could be two other reasons besides Akshay Kumar, in these three lovely ladies' keen interest in doing Thuppakki. The film has broken all previous records in Tamil cinema, exceeding the collections of even the biggest Rajinikanth blockbusters. At the same time, this action-oriented film offers the leading lady a chance to play a boxer.
We hear three of Akshay's leading ladies feel they're eminently qualified. Says our source, "After the intense experience of doing Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Katrina is at the moment searching for something fun to do in her next project. The Thuppakki remake will give her that sense of unwinding. Besides, she's been dying to do something with producer Vipul Shah and Akshay Kumar for the longest time. She had a fabulous time working with them in Namastey London and since the Namastey London sequel is not happening immediately, she is agreeable to taking on the challenge of doing the remake of Thuppakki."
Deepika Padukone may beat Katrina to it simply by default. "She was offered the original Tamil film, but could not do it due to date issues. Now Deepika is the top contender for the boxer's role in Hindi, and mainly because she by nature an athlete and has been looking out for a sporty role," says our source.
We hear Kajal Aggarwal who plays the lead in the original Tamil film is not eligible for the remake. Says our source, "The cast will be completely different. Both Vipul and Akshay feel the remake should be completely different in look. Sonakshi Sinha has also expressed interest in the role."
When contacted, producer Vipul Shah completely cut down reports that Parineeti Chopra has been signed opposite Akshay. "It could be any of the ladies you've mentioned. We're very sure that the remake would have to be very different from the original. Vijay, who stars in Thuppakki, is a superstar in Tamil cinema. With Akshay, the remake will acquire a larger appeal. So yes, the leading lady would be different from the Tamil film."
In fact, Vipul's current blue-eyed boy Vidyut Jamwal who played the villain in Vipul's production Force would not encore his villainous role from Thuppakki. Asserts Vipul, "I will certainly not cast Vidyut as the villain. I am launching him as a hero in Commando. So the villain too would be played by a different actor in the remake. You see, the whole idea is to give the remake of Thuppakki a fresh look. Our director Murugadoss, Akshay and I will lock in on the heroine as soon as we know who can look convincing as a boxer."
One hears Deepika may just beat Katrina and Sonakshi to the role. Says the director A. Murugadoss, "We'll decide who plays the leading lady once we all sit down to discuss the matter. The girl's character will change in Hindi. In the Tamil film, she's a funny boxer. She has nothing to do with Mary Kom. In Hindi, we will now take references from Mary Kom and give the character more gravity."
